Eravikulam National Park

Spread in an expanse of 97sq.km, this is one of the famous national parks of Kerala. The park is a home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park boasts of the largest populations of Nilgiri Tahr existing in the world. Large varieties of birds, animals and butterflies are also seen in this park.


Anamudi Peak

Anamudi is the highest peak of the Western Ghats in India situated in the Eravikulam National Park. It has a height of over 2700m and resembles the shape of an elephant’s head, hence giving it the name ‘Anamudi’ meaning ‘elephants head.’

The area around Anamudi peak is a habitat to a unique and newly species of frog called Raorchestes resplendens.


Attukal Waterfalls

Surrounded by rolling verdant hills, Attukal waterfalls are enchanting. Trekkers love this region especially as they can enjoy both trekking and the best of nature sightseeing near the waterfall. The view is just awesome during monsoon when the waterfall is in full its full glory.


Shopping in Munnar

Tea and coffee are the must-buy items. Spices, strawberries, coir and metal wares are some of the other items that can be purchased from the local shops.


When to Reach

September to October is the best time to visit as the weather is perfect for sightseeing. Snake boat race held during Onam festival (August) is also a sought after time to plan a trip.

Cochin International Airport is the nearby airport to access the destination airways while travellers travelling through train will have to get down at Ernakulam Junction and take a taxi or cab for the destination.
